We've been waiting since 10..to see the lights go dim
It feels like yesterday when I entered the Santa Monica airport hanger to assist in my very first fashion show.
The air was crip and fresh, I walked in and it was like a scence right out of
my wildest dream.
The stage was built, the lighting was being tested....models arriving....as designers stand around in their (yes i am a designer) outfits....and the chairs, the most delicate and important part..well of course they were in place.
For a moment, I stood there and took it all in knowing there was no other place in the world
I would rather be.
I could go on and on with this story as it is so vivid in my mind.
It wasn't until recently that I realized my love for Fashion was very deep, its more than material things,
it's a passion for beauty.....for texture, for art, for creativity and for life.
I am vert fortunate to feel this exact same way everytime I assist, see or produce a fashion show.
The images below are more than pictures, they are emotions....
NY FASHION WEEK....Backstage.
Ohhhhh Catherine......

Alexa Chung

Bowery Hotel Terrace
NY Fashion week 2010
Come in close for a little lesson.....Allow me to introduce you to Alexa Chung. For those unaware she is an English Tele (in my fake English accent) personality and one of America's "It Girls." As a young girl she graced the pages of Elle as a model and moved on Fashionista, TV personality and now Collaborative Designer for J.Crew's sibling line "Madewell."
Madewell’s “vision is kind of the same as mine. They like laid back styles, they like kind of relaxed clothes — classic, timeless things. So when they asked to collaborate, it was a perfect fit,” Alexa reports to the Wall Street Journal blog
While she is not sure if this collab will continue into seasons to come, she does admit the design process is very egotistical. "Everyone around is dressed like me"
We over at Candy Coat Me....give it two thumbs up. (But of course we do, we moved our lunch break so that we would be able to catch Alexa's MTV show!)
The line appears to be the perfect mix of the school girl next door meets, the artsy girl in yearbook...its very New York.

Let my people go.
Glitz and Glamour. Front rows and backstage passes. Many young fashionistas and on lookers have an opinion on the fashion industry, the runway shows, the photo shoots, the parties. But looks are decieving.
The Fashion industry is amazing, it really is. But amazing is only acquired after most times, 15 hr days, uncomfortable working condidtions, STRESS, pressure, and a high level of expectancy to produce.
Which many on lookers do not get to see.
Enter Kelly Cutrone. Many of you may remember Kelly from MTV's "The Hills" or "The City" as she was both Lauren Conrads and Whitney Ports, emotionless, and very no-nonsense boss. Kelly is the owner of public relations, branding and marketing firm "People's Revolution." She is none the less an Iconic. Her company represents 46 brands and in 2002 broke the record for most fashionn shows produced in one day.
Kelly's next venture...."Kell on Earth." A new series on the Bravo network, following Kelly throughout her life, her business and all her interns. It is no accident that "Kell on earth" may often be confused with the infamous phrase "hell on earth" because, that is what it may often appear to be.
Tune in Monday nights on Bravo for behind the scenes introduction to the real Fashion industry, the drama, the tears, the screams, the beauty, the models, the dreams of all fashionistas.
Check out the clips below for a little bite..of Kelly Cutrone.
More Kelly
No more explanation needed
And even with all this said...I still live for this!!!!
